Remember the good old days when most people used to memorise the bible? Some people still do but most people would rather read and memorise small sections that are most relevant to them. Sure as a whole people have a much shorter attention span than the people who lived a century ago, but this is hardly a new phenomena, no has the fact that happiness levels have stagnated throughout the developed world while anxiety has risen.
