He definitely sucks, but I think you are missing the self irony there. To me this is extremely well done.

to be honest I just find that this campaign is trying very hard to be funny in relation to the previous one that seemed effortless! I dont see the irony ..its difficult to repeat the same concept twice. My advice to clients is almost always to avoid repeating the same recipe…and to be honest maybe this is why they plan to include the previous actor yet again! if you check the comments on all the videos above more or less everyone is saying how crap this new campaign is! Fabio belongs in butter commercials and on the covers of romance novels that are read by very lonely women not to inspire men to wear the old spice! Anyways as always lots of money and brainwash will make people buy this product yet again

It’s actually a pretty brilliant marketing scheme. He’s awful, and that’s the point. Now everyone’s googling “new old spice guy fabio” because their friends told them about this terrible new old spice ad, and “How could they change it! They’ve lost their magic!”… that’s how I found this blog. And then a month from now, Isaiah will be back and they’ll make everything new again. The real mistake would have been to serve up more of the same (albeit fantastic) Man Your Man Could Smell Like ads, and let the consumers grow weary of them.
