There are only a few points this raises that is unique to the internet, everything else are just echos of previous generations. Remember the good old days when most people used to memorise the bible? Some people still do but most people would rather read and memorise small sections that are most relevant to them. Sure as a whole people have a much shorter attention span than the people who lived a century ago, but this is hardly a new phenomena, no has the fact that happiness levels have stagnated throughout the developed world while anxiety has risen.
This raises both the issue of the filter bubble but also complains we’re suffering due to a filter failure?
